CASHMERE CARE

HAND WASHING
  • Prepare Lukewarm Water: Fill a clean sink or basin with lukewarm water (not exceeding 30°C or 86°F).
  • Use Gentle Detergent: Add a small amount of mild non-ionic detergent or baby shampoo designed for delicate fabrics. Avoid using standard laundry detergents, which can be too harsh for cashmere.
  • Submerge and Soak: Submerge your cashmere garment in the water and gently swirl it around to ensure it's fully wet. Let it soak for about 5 minutes.
  • Gently Wash: Lightly agitate the garment in the water with your hands. Avoid wringing or stretching the fabric as this can distort its shape.
  • Rinse Thoroughly: Drain the soapy water and rinse the garment with fresh lukewarm water until the water runs clear and all soap is removed.
MACHINE WASHING (if you must!)

If you absolutely need to machine wash your cashmere please follow the below steps closely:

  • Use a Mesh Bag: Place your cashmere in a mesh laundry bag to protect it during the wash cycle.
  • Select Gentle Cycle: Use a gentle wool wash or delicate cycle with cold water. Ensure the spin is set to low to prevent excessive wringing.
  • Mild Detergent: Choose a mild non-ionic detergent or baby shampoo designed for delicate fabrics. Avoid using standard laundry detergents, which can be too harsh for cashmere. Follow the product directions for the amount needed.
  • Dry Flat: Follow the same drying instructions as for hand washing.
DRYING
  • Remove Excess Water: Carefully lift the garment from the water. Gently squeeze out as much water as possible without wringing. Lay it flat on a clean, dry towel.
  • Roll in the Towel: Roll the towel and garment together to absorb more water. Press down on the roll gently to help the towel absorb moisture, but don't twist or wring.
  • Dry Flat: Unroll the towel and lay the garment flat on a new, dry towel or a drying rack, reshaping it to its original form. Avoid direct sunlight or heat sources, as these can shrink or damage the fabric.
ADDITIONAL TIPS
  • Frequency: Cashmere doesn't need to be washed after every wear. Air it out between wears to help it retain its shape and freshness.
  • Storage: You can store your cashmere in the STUDIO AERE dust bag provided. It's best to store cashmere folded in a drawer or on a shelf. Avoid hanging, as it can stretch the fabric.
  • Pilling: Pilling is a normal occurrence on knitwear with wear. Removing pills is easily done using a knit comb or a pilling remover. Gentle brushing can also help maintain the texture.

By following these care instructions, your cashmere knitwear should continue to feel luxurious and look beautiful for many seasons.
