WELFARE
The yarn we selected to use for our brand was a considered decision. We chose a yarn supplier that closely follows best practices across all areas of production but particularly in regards to the welfare of the goats they attain their fibre from.
Our yarn supplier, M.ORO, has cultivated over 1400 acres of organic pasture in Otog Banner, Ordos, Inner Mongolia. They breed Albas white cashmere goats based on the organic agriculture regulations of the United States and the European Union and the concept of natural green. They have passed the CU (CONTROL UNION) organic cashmere certification and are members of a host of high quality standard organisations.
M.ORO’s certification page can be viewed here. A large part of attaining certification is making sure the goats are treated responsibly in accordance with The Five Domains approach.

THE FIVE DOMAINS
The Five Domains offer a thorough and organised approach to assessing the welfare of individual or groups of animals in specific contexts, emphasising positive mental experiences. They expand upon the traditional Five Freedoms of animal welfare by prioritising the promotion of positive experiences and acknowledging the emotional needs of each animal, alongside efforts to reduce negative experiences.

Ensuring animals have access to sufficient, balanced, varied, and clean food and water to maintain health and vigor.
ENVIRONMENT

HEALTH
Promoting physical health through the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases and injuries, and ensuring proper care.
BEHAVIOUR
Allowing animals to express natural behaviours through adequate space, proper facilities, and appropriate social interactions.
MENTAL STATE
Considering the animal's mental well-being by minimizing stress, fear, and distress, and promoting positive experiences to support overall psychological health.
